Telepractice Information

Speech-language pathology services are usually delivered one-on-one, and they are most often provided in a face-to-face setting, where client and practitioner can work together in the same physical space. Regularly scheduled sessions are the ideal way to reach important therapeutic goals.

For some clients, however, time constraints, travel distance, or physical limitations can make attendance at regular sessions difficult or impossible. For individuals facing certain speech language challenges, telepractice or distant learning sessions are an option worth exploring.

Telepractice or online therapy allows Laura Smith, or other practitioners associated with TALK SLP, to meet and work with clients through synchronous video technology such as Skype, Facetime, or Google Hangouts. All you will need is your desktop or laptop computer, an Internet connection, and the relevant software or application. It’s easier than it sounds!
